NEGATIVE SENTENCES

Bueno pelaos, ahora la parte fácil.

Ok then, now is the easy part.

Vamos a crear oraciones negativas en pasado simple con verbos diferentes al to be.

We are going to create negative sentences in simple past with verbs that are different to the verb to be.

Lo primero que debemos saber, es que las mismas reglas del presente simple negativo, aplican para el pasado simple negativo.

The first thing we have to know, is that the same rules that apply to the simple present in negative, apply to the simple past in negative.

La única diferencia es que en lugar de escribir DO NOT  o DOES NOT, escribimos DID NOT y el verbo vuelve a presente.

The only difference is that instead writing DO NOT or DOES NOT, we write DID NOT and the verb comes back to present.

Hagamos un paralelo para ver la conversión de presente a pasado de una mejor manera.

Let’s make a parallel to see the conversion from simple present to simple past in a better way.

Mario no corre mucho                                                 Mario no corrio mucho

THEY DO NOT CLEAN THE HOUSE                   THEY DID NOT CLEAN THE HOUSE

Ellos no limpian la casa                                               Ellos no limpiaron la casa.

WE DO NOT WRITE A NOTE                               WE DID NOT WRITE A NOTE                         Nosotros no escribimos una nota.                              Nosotros no escribimos una nota.
